Simply put, to make your file (virus, keylogger, RAT, stealer etc) undetectable to antivirus software, thereby allowing to Infect your target.

am still cautious about using some viruses because am afraid i might get infected too, i ain't got no problem though with keyloggers, rat etc...

Yeah... It's definitely not FUD anymore. Once you post a tool like that, there is no "FUD" anymore. And also, it's not just the crypter itself that has to be good, it's the stub you're using. You could use the same crypter over and over again as long as you have a new stub. And lastly, there's no way those detection's are just false positives.
