I was having a problem with alarms in Android too. The problem was about the doze mode (

). For example, the alarm worked fine when I set it to one hour further, but it didn't work if it was set to 4am. I just discovered it is very simple, I just should use AlarmManager.setAlarmClock() instead of AlarmManager.set().

So I decided to create an example application on github.
