So I've seen people who refund Apple. I kind of want to get an iPhone XS, but I'm wondering if they just disable it once you get the refund? Does anyone have info on this?

Companies tend to place the IMEI In a pool of blacklisted numbers, so when you attempt to activate It with a given phone carrier/provider, It will fail. I can circumvent this, but It's beyond the scope of this post to document exactly how.
