I will scream at the next person who tells me Macs are secure!

Apple's original innovation was the GUI, and after that the extremely simple and intuitive UI. Nowhere along the line do they claim to be an innovator of the more back-end things.

As for the exploit, a super-super summary is that the "sudo" command accidentally granted root to anyone when time=0. This isn't an OSX-only exploit, but OSX doesn't update sudo on its own like other Unix OSs.

Macs are not Secure , but its Secure then windows .

An operating system is just as secure as how cautious the user of it is.

I'd be surprised if there was someone still running OS X 10.8.4

It's kinda good that they're well off put i'm not really sure if a Mac is suitable for common school work... that kinda seems like flashing away the money on something pointless...
