As for the text, you're using an overused font with a gradient and inside shadow. It looks awful.
The background is kind of decent, but could do with a border or something.

The edit looks way better. As @Adorapuff said, be careful with that inner shadow. In my experience, shadows, gradients, and glows can do a lot of damage to a clean image if you don't have a clue how to use them.

The color of the text makes it blend with the background. Lookup color theory and watch some videos about it.
