photoshop isnt an option on my pc, im using a school pc.

Get a portable pirated version and stick it on a thumb drive.

Yes but i havent seen a truly portable one yet not to mention its technically illegal to make this portable so all the big sites i know of that have portable shit dont have this...

Gimp is okay to do some basic editing, but if you want more advanced options you should use Adobe or something similar. There are a lot of GIMP plugins that give some extra functionality to the program as well, so you might want to check out some plugins.

I had a portable of cs4 for a long time in high school.

by truly portable i mean it runs as invoker and doesnt write to anywhere besides its own folder unless you save a pic somewhere or something.

Not bad but not the best I think. Definitely don't stop working at it though!

I would also agree with what others have said and try and use Adobe instead of GIMP. There are certainly versions floating around somewhere. When I used to use photoshop alot I used to pull it off Torrents n' such
